The Big Bang Theory is in the middle of its fourth season and it continues to draw in 13 million viewers. The show won the People's Choice award for Favorite Comedy and also won the best comedy series TCA award. Jim Parsons (aka Sheldon Cooper) won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show is geared towards educated college graduates, college students and dorks. The show's humor incorporates many different types of humor that can be narrowed down into the three different types. The first is the overall geekiness of four of the principal characters whom love things such as Star Trek, Star Wars, etc. The next type of humor involves educated humor that typically plays on scientific subjects such as psychology, biology, astronomy, and physics. The final type of humor, the most important part of the show, is personality conflicts. Sheldon is a genius that obtained his PhD when he was 16, does not understand humor at all, and adheres to strict routine. Leonard is Sheldon's roommate who has mother issues and is more socially functional than Sheldon. Penny is an attractive blond, extremely witty, bearer of common sense, and is Sheldon and Leonard's next door neighbor who had a relationship with Leonard. Howard (aka Wolowitz) is a Jewish engineer who perceives himself as a ladies man (he is not) and is typically accompanied by Rajesh, an Indian astronomer who is the fish out of water and is extremely shy around ladies (he needs to drink in order to talk to them). Together, all of their differences in personality combine to make an explosively hilarious show.

The fourth season has created great opportunities to express the differences in personality. Such examples in the season include the conflict between Sheldon and Star Trek actor Will Wheaton, a humorous Wolowitz and a witty Penny, and Rajesh and Leonard when Rajesh's sister has some fun with Leonard. The season also questions what would happen if there was a woman exactly like Sheldon? The relationship with Amy Farrah Fowler is extremely bizarre which is funny and shows human depth to Sheldon that, as an audience, was previously perceived as inconceivable; the relationship reaches a climax in which Sheldon does not want to meet Amy Farrah Fowlers mother, and to describe the support of the mailman, Sheldon says: "Got your back Jack. Bitches be crazy." The main question on everyone's mind is whether or not Leonard and Penny are going to get back together.

The Boyfriend Complexity (S04E09) was one of the most original episodes of the season. It started off questioning who was the bravest person to deal with a superhero, and the casts' conclusion was whoever gave Wolverine a prostate exam. There were two sub-stories within the episode, the first one involved Leonard meeting Penny's father. Penny's father believes that Penny is still going out with Leonard, which is exactly the opposite status of their relationship. Penny and Leonard awkwardly go through their supposed relationship by creating hysterical moments which included Leonard kissing Penny in front of her father in which Penny was clearly uncomfortable in doing so. Penny's father tells Penny not to go out with Leonard after learning they were not a couple anymore thus hoping that Penny would actually go out with Leonard. The second sub story is when Howard's girlfriend accompanies him while they watch Rajesh's experiment in which Rajesh looks for a certain planet in the universe. Rajesh gets extremely drunk and tells the telescope workers to reposition the telescope on Scarlett Johansson's house and "would have little people be live members of his chess set." He then becomes a depressed drunk and tries to kiss Howard's girlfriend, but Howard thwarts the kiss and accidently kisses Rajesh.

For those who are dorky and those who are smart, you'll enjoy the Big Bang Theory.
