Students Demonstrate for Diversity

 On the cold and rainy afternoon of February 9th at noon, members of the University Board of Regents, Sewanee administrators, and others scurry down the sidewalk toward the EQB Building where lunch would be served. Before they enter the shelter of the EQB, however, they pass a mass of students shielded from fat raindrops by a collage of variously colored umbrellas and holding large signs requesting, as Theodosia Goddard (C’11), one of the protest’s organizers, put it simply: “change."

Proposition 8 Continues to be Considered in Federal Hearing

The federal hearing of California’s Proposition 8 regarding Gay Marriage came to a close on Wednesday, January 27th. Although the result of the trial will most likely not be known until later this spring, both sides reportedly came away feeling very successful and smug in their efforts.
